It was a real honour to welcome the Home Secretary to Croydon last night.
After what is always a busy day, it means a lot to local activists and members of our community that he would take the time to meet committed Conservative Party members and discuss matters of concern and answer their questions about the future of the UK.
Sajid Javid MP spent the dinner meeting and mingling local residents, before talking about his vision for a united Conservative Party - one that delivers Brexit and then renews its focus on looking after some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
It's a message that I entirely support, and one that I know the Conservative Party has been working to address with recent announcements including cutting taxes to help with the cost of living; boosting wages for the lowest paid and increasing investment in public services like our precious NHS, our police service and tacking roughsleeping.
