It was a real treat to spend treat to spend Friday night with Croydon's Ahmadiyya Association.
Meeting in New Addington's Community Centre, the night had two purposes. The first was to celebrate all the incredible work the community does for Croydon's local charities. Over 100 received a wide variety of support, including substantial financial donations. Representatives from the charities lined up to thank them for their generosity including Mind in Croydon and the Samaritans. The gratitude was a testament to the positive impact the Ahmadiyya's have on our town.
The second reason for the evening was to promote their upcoming Charity Walk for Peace taking place in Lloyd Park on 27th April. Visit their website for more information and go along and support if you can!
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association have an incredible mission: to help society, to support charitable endeavours, to work to secure the common good, to demonstrate loyalty to country and nation, and to defend the dignity of mankind. I think we can all get behind that. I look forward to working with them over many years to come.
I want to thank them for all that they do in Croydon, and hope that lots of Croydonians turn out for their fantastic charity walk at the end of the month!
