Croydon FC have launched a fundraising campaign to stay afloat after a series of destructive break-ins last week have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Thieves ransacked the clubhouse on Thursday morning, only to return to the arena office today, making off with laptops, cash and memorabilia, causing significant damage.
As a result, Croydon FC's charity partner, The Kinetic Foundation, is now unable to run it's community education and sport sessions safely at the site due to the building damage, stopping 50 young people from accessing educational services.
The club have set up a gofundme page, appealing for the money needed to rebuild vital facilities. I have donated £1,000 from my ward budget to help their efforts to repair the damage.
The volunteers at the club work so hard to help so many young people across Croydon. It's only right that we all pull together to help them in their time of need.
To donate, please visit their fundraising page. Hopefully we can all help them to get back on their feet as soon as possible.
