Many thanks to the wonderfully warm and friendly group at Leatherhead U3A for inviting me as their guest speaker at their regular monthly gathering.
Leatherhead and District U3A was founded in 1998 to provide a range of learning activities for the semi-retired and retired residents of Leatherhead and district and so, in 2018, they celebrated their twentieth anniversary.
They currently have around 300 members all of whom are welcome to attend their monthly social meeting held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at which they have a guest speaker - for September, that was me!
The Chair very kindly sent me this message after my talk:
We just wanted to record our thanks for your excellent presentation this afternoon.
It was totally fascinating and absorbing. Despite our age and experience – you brought something to our members that we’d never seen before. As well as being new to us, it was fresh and very entertaining.
We are sure you have a great career ahead of you, so we look forward to seeing you in the ‘main stream’ before very long.
