This evening I spoke in a Croydon Council meeting where it was confirmed that Croydon Council is on the verge of bankruptcy.
£1.5 billion in debt. That's £15,000 debt accrued every hour since Labour took over in 2014. Think what you could do with that amount of money?
The Council has decided to cut up to 400 staff, including street cleaners and social workers. A truly terribly state of affairs that will particularly impact the most vulnerable in our town hardest.
Labour keep blaming others. But it's clear that it's their choices that have led us down this terrible road.
Croydon deserves better.
