My Council ward of Coulsdon Town sits on the southern border of London. As a result, a huge number of issues affecting residents in my patch also regularly impact those in Chipstead, which falls under Reigate Borough Council.
I've had great relationships with all border councillors for many years, so it made sense to formalise that by creating the North East Surrey Border group. This means that Councillors from Reigate, Tandridge, Croydon and Sutton can meeting regularly to discuss issues that matter to our residents on either side of the boundary.
Tonight we had the first kick off meeting - lots was discussed and I'm very hopeful that it will generate great returns for our residents.
