Matt Hancock MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, today paid a visit to Croydon College to meet with students, business representatives and local charities to discuss the public health approach to stopping knife crime.
Listening to the experiences of the young people in the room, Matt heard about how they encountered knife and gang-related crime - and their ideas about how to tackle it.
Representatives from local charity Lives Not Knives and business incubator the Sussex Innovation Centre were also present to offer their perspective.
The visit follows the Government's announcement of an extra £100m to police to help fund specific approached to tackle knife crime.
